Church History
The original faith community of Armonk UMC was organized as “ The Methodist Society of North Castle,” in 1787 when Francis Asbury (1745-1816), who was one of the first Methodist Episcopal bishops in the United States, visited. The original building was located at the corner of Cox Avenue and School Street where the Old Methodist Cemetery is now.
Though the name and people have changed, Armonk United Methodist Church has been a faithful community of Jesus Christ serving God and the world. In September 2007, we celebrated our 220th anniversary with thanksgiving for the past and hope for the future. Please check out the Photo Gallery.
